The Career Readiness handbook is part of collaborative efforts to help students improve their employability, and supports ongoing, complementary work in both agencies, including Jobs Y’all and the Texas Internship Challenge.
The handbook is designed to guide students of any age through their postsecondary education with the goal of career readiness. It contains activities and resources to help students think about each step toward a career as they move through their degree or certificate programs. The handbook introduces students to the concept of hard skills and soft skills and relates these to program content. It also informs students about the need to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities in order to develop skills and have a well-rounded resumé. Internships and apprenticeships are also explored in-depth.
