Top 1000 Books Owned by Libraries

According to the OCLC web site:
"This list contains the "Top 1000" titles owned by OCLC member libraries—the intellectual works that have been judged to be worth owning by the "purchase vote" of libraries around the globe."

You will be surprised to see the titles listed. Would you have thought that Garfield at Large would rank higher than MacBeth?

Take a peek on this page:

National Family History Day

U.S. Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona has declared Thanksgiving 2004 to be the first annual National Family History Day.

Whenever families gather, the Surgeon General encourages them to talk about, and to write down, the health problems that seem to run in their family. Because family health history is such a powerful screening tool, the Surgeon General has created a new computerized tool which can be downloaded for free to help make it fun and easy for anyone to create a sophisticated portrait of their family's health.

To download the tool and read more about this project go to
My Family Health Portrait

Imagine a blood red moon!

According to folklore, October's full moon is called the "Hunter's Moon" or sometimes the "Blood Moon." ... The Blood Moon rises this year on Wednesday, Oct. 27th. At first it will seem pale and cold, as usual. And then ... blood red.

Does the library have your textbook?

As a rule the ACC libraries do NOT purchase the required textbooks.
However it's worth checking our online catalog because sometimes we will have them.

You can find out more about how to find out if we do have your textbook at
http://library.austincc.edu/help/how/faq-course-textbk.htm

Be sure you have the exact title (or author) when you search because many texts have similar titles.
