Math PLUS Lapel Buttons

Library staff want to show their support for Math PLUS. Lapel buttons are being worn daily by ACC Library staff to help raise awareness of students, faculty and staff about Math PLUS.

ACC's QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan), Math PLUS, is a comprehensive, multi-year program to help students succeed in developmental mathematics and includes collaborative learning activities, instruction in math-specific study skills, and lab time where students use educational software to reinforce concepts.

Banned Books Week Sept. 30 - Oct. 6, 2012

Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Typically held during the last week of September, it highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community –- librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types –- in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular. (Banned Books Week: Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Freedom to Read, ALA, 2012)

NRG Library Closed August 16-26 for Repairs

August 16-26 (Thu-Sun) NRG Campus Library
will be closed for repairs.

Any student with an ACC Student Support Center textbook voucher for the week of August 20-24, who would normally use the NRG Library, should contact (223-2030) or go to the CYP Library.

Austin Public Library Computer Access Unavailable April 19-22

Public computer access for customers will be unavailable at all Austin Public Library locations from April 19 through April 22 while the Library upgrades the public computer software and reservation system. The Library will bring specific branches back on-line as the software upgrades are completed. Public computer access at all locations will be completely restored by Monday, April 23. Don't leave your belongings unattended in the libraries

Unattended laptops, cell phones, iPods, calculators, text books, and wallets (whether in or out of a bag/backpack) attract thieves. Please do not step away from your valuables, even for short excursions to the copier, printer, or restroom. Instead, pack up and take your belongings with you or have a friend watch them in your absence.

Belongings left unattended may be taken to the Campus Police Office for security purposes.

Note: Thanks to Lafayette College Library for some of this wording. Thievery is not limited to one college or one place. Be alert in public places.

The Support Center Textbook Collection is a special collection of books purchased through a grant by the ACC Student Support Center to assist certain student groups* to gain access to required textbooks.

ONLY these special student groups* have access to the textbooks through the first week of classes.

After the first week of classes [starting the second week of classes], general credit students can checkout textbooks from this collection.
