It was hard to decide what to include--100 years is a long time and a lot has happened during this period.
We
decided to focus on achievements and positive events and to include as
many black Texans and local people as we could find. Naturally, in this
selection, many people and events were omitted. We hope this display
will encourage others to research black history to discover what we left
out.
